Range information
Ranipur Research range was established under Silviculturist Sal Division in the year 1965 and in the following year, Kalsi Research range under the same Division was established to give impetus to conservation and sustainable development works of Haridwar, Dehradunand Chakrata Forest divisions. The primary objective was to conserve rare and threatened plant species of the area. Shyampur demonstration nursery with an area of 3 hectares was developed in 1999 and equipped with shade house, mist chambers and germination houses for preserving plants. In the beginning, high quality eucalyptus clones were grown in the nursery. Ranipur Research range was merged with Kalsi Research range and later reconstituted as Dehradun Research range in November 2019.
